Was, Did आणि Had म्हणजे काय?

Was, Did आणि Had हे इंग्रजीतील अत्यंत महत्त्वाचे words आहेत. Beginner English शिकताना या तीन शब्दांचा योग्य वापर समजणे खूप गरजेचे आहे.

तिन्ही शब्दांचा वापर वेगवेगळ्या grammatical situations मध्ये होतो.

Was → “be” चे Past form
Did → “do” चे Past form
Had → “have” चे Past form

पण फक्त एवढे लक्षात ठेवणे पुरेसे नाही. वाक्यात त्यांचा नेमका उपयोग कसा होतो, हे समजून घेणे महत्त्वाचे आहे.

1. Use of WAS

Was हे am / is चे Past form आहे.

सामान्यतः I, He, She, It आणि singular subject सोबत Was वापरले जाते.

1. भूतकाळातील अवस्था सांगण्यासाठी

I was tired yesterday.
मी काल थकलो/थकले होतो/होते.

Interview आधी मी nervous होतो/होते.

3. Past Continuous मध्ये

Was + Verb-ing

Structure:

Subject + was + V-ing

Was चे negative करण्यासाठी was not / wasn’t वापरतात.

Did हे Do चे Past form आहे.

कधीकधी एखादी गोष्ट आपण खरंच केली होती हे जोर देऊन सांगण्यासाठी Did वापरता येते.

Had हे have / has चे Past form आहे.

Had चा वापर सर्व subjects सोबत करता येतो.

Subject + had + V3

भूतकाळातील दोन घटनांपैकी पहिली घटना आधी घडली होती हे दाखवण्यासाठी Past Perfect वापरले जाते.

तो येण्यापूर्वी मी माझे काम पूर्ण केले होते.
