Past Perfect Tense हा असा Tense आहे जो भूतकाळातील दोन घटनांपैकी एक घटना दुसऱ्या घटनेच्या आधी पूर्ण झाली होती हे सांगण्यासाठी वापरला जातो.

मराठीत अशा वाक्यांचा अर्थ बहुतेक वेळा “केले होते”, “गेला होता”, “खाल्ले होते”, “पूर्ण केले होते” असा होतो.

भूतकाळात एखादे काम दुसऱ्या कामाच्या आधी पूर्ण झाले होते, तेव्हा Past Perfect Tense वापरतात.
