Simple Past Tense म्हणजे भूतकाळात झालेले काम किंवा घटना सांगण्यासाठी वापरला जाणारा Tense.
मराठीत आपण “केले”, “गेला”, “आली”, “खेळलो”, “शिकलो” अशा प्रकारची वाक्ये बोलतो.

जे काम भूतकाळात पूर्ण झाले आहे, ते सांगण्यासाठी Simple Past Tense वापरला जातो.

Structure (रचना)

1) Positive Sentences

Subject + Verb (2nd form) + Object

Examples:

• I played cricket.
  मी क्रिकेट खेळलो.
• She visited Pune.
  ती पुण्याला गेली.
• They watched a movie.

Negative sentence मध्ये Verb ची 1st form वापरली जाते.

Uses of Simple Past Tense

1) Completed Action in the Past

भूतकाळात पूर्ण झालेले काम सांगण्यासाठी.

Examples:

• I finished my homework.
• He opened the door.

पूर्वीची सवय सांगण्यासाठी.

Important Rules

Rule 1:

Positive sentence मध्ये Verb ची 2nd form वापरतात.
